What does IPL stand for?
IPL is an acronym for “intense pulsed light”. IPL is different from a laser, though similar in the way it can penetrate deep into the skin to improve texture and tone.
What can IPL help?
- Poor skin texture and tone
- Brown and red skin discoloration
- Noticeable facial veins
- Reducing red acne scars
- Reduction of fine lines
- Treatment of rosacea (flushing and redness)
- Photo-aging
Why do we get brown spots as we age?
Age spots are the result of an excess production of melanin, or skin pigment. Doctors don’t always know why age spots develop. Skin aging, sun exposure, or other forms of ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, such as tanning beds, are all possible
How do you know if you have dark spots?
Symptoms. These spots can range from light to dark brown or black in color, are flat, and generally oval-shape. Dark spots can develop anywhere, but they are most likely to appear on the parts of the body that receive the most sun exposure.
Will age spots go away?
But where a true freckle will fade in the winter when sun exposure is limited, age spots do NOT go away on their own. Lentigos are the result of sun exposure. At Complexion Skin Clinic we use our medical device to perform an IPL treatment that will help fade these spots and/ or remove them
What can be treated with IPL?
Common IPL Laser pigmentation treatments areas include the face, hands, decollete, arms, shoulders, neck and back.
